Getting dressed up....in all sorts of ways....

Lately it seems that we have been making crazy outfits or getting dressed up a lot. It certainly adds to the chaos and I love doing something completely unexpected!

First up is when I dyed by hair blue and gold to get our Cub Scout pack excited about the upcoming Blue and Gold Banquet. They didn't know quite what to think! Yes, I know the gold looks more green than anything. As a dear Girl Scout friend commented "You can't help it!" .....

Then the actual night of the Blue and Gold Banquet...which of course I had a major hand in planning....we were celebrating the 100th Birthday of Boy Scouting and the 80th Birthday of Cub Scouting.

Rob took me to see "CATS"! I have always wanted to see it and since it is not on Broadway anymore I didn't think I would ever have the chance. Doesn't he looks handosme!

After a lazy start to a Sunday mornig which had been delayed due to warm snuggly boys who played and laughed in the adult bed, the boys disappear rather suddently. The adults were told not to come downstairs until we were told too. If someone tells me to stay in bed I'm not about to argue! Eventually we were summoned and this is what we found:

A few weeks ago Ryan's school had a spirit week that included a day of dressing up like your favorite book character. Could he pick something easy like Harry Potter (his Halloween costume) or Jack from the Magic Tree House series (a costume from a few years ago that required taping an explanation to his chest otherwise he just looked like a normal kid out begging for candy)...NO...he had to pick the red headed Viking Hiccup Horrendous Haddack the Third! Thank goodness Rob is great about making props out of basic materials. I do make some really good freckles though with eyeliner.

After all this do you wonder if we ever have a normal day? NOPE - what is the fun in that? Doesn't everyone have 6 cans of different colors of spray hair dye in their bathroom cabinet? Wait until we have Mohawk Mommy Day this summer!
